Why the name K2 Group?

A lot of real estate teams decide to make their team name all about themselves - so they name their team the “Billy Bob Team” or some such. For us, we wanted our customers to come first - and making our organization all about us, is exactly the opposite of our philosophy. So, we went through a great many name choices and finally decided on K2 Group.

The name K2 is is actually a play on words. Jennifer Karlen and Jon Karlen, gives us 2 K’s to work with by using the first letter of the last names.  And that leads us to the next question I’m sure you have:

Why a Mountain for the Logo?

The highest mountain in the world is Mount Everest - most persons know that. But the most difficult mountain to climb in the world and the one that all climbers aspire to conquering is K2. Its no slouch for height being the 2nd highest mountain - but it makes up for its slightly smaller height with a difficult terrain comprised of loose & rocky snow.

Many real estate transactions can be difficult and challenging. And we aspire to be the best and provide the ultimate in service to our clients.

Thus, the mountain logo (even though we are in KY) and the name K2 Group came into being.

Our current service areas for Louisville include the following Counties:  Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer, Henry

And the following cities:  Goshen, Prospect, Shelbyville, Simpsonville, New Castle, Taylorsville

Service areas for Lexington include the following Counties:  Fayette, Jessamine, Scott, Woodford

And the following cities:  Georgetown, Paris, Nicholasville, Versailles, Midway
